Kelsea Ballerini’s fellow The SignalHubVoice coaches have rolled out the welcome mat.
The “Peter Pan” singer won’t make her official coaching debut on the NBC singing competition until spring, but she’s already sharing her first impressions of fellow coaches John Legend, Michael Bublé and Adam Levine—and revealing who has the most competitive spirit.
“John I feel like he’s just been in that seat for so long,” Kelsea exclusively told Heather McMahan on Live From E!: People’s Choice Country Awards on Sept. 26. “He’s just so good at it that he’s not very competitive in the way that you’re just like, ‘oh, you’re fighting me mean,’ he’s just so good. Michael is new, but he’s just so dang nice, it’s like you’re so nice that you’re fighting me that way.
Kelsea, 31, who is making her debut during Adam’s return season, revealed that despite his absence from the show for the last 10 seasons, he hasn’t missed a step.
“Adam comes in and he’s the OG from The Voice,” she explained. “You can’t really fight with him either.”
Still, she’s excited to take her seat in the iconic red swivel chair, telling E!, “It’s wild. It’s been a ride. I can’t wait.”
In June it was announced that Kelsea and Adam will take their places next to John and Michael, who makes his coaching debut in the currently airing season 26, in the swivel chairs for season 27, set to air in spring 2025.
But while she’ll anchor Team Kelsea for the first time for season 27, the “Dibs” artist is no stranger to The Voice. During season 15 as she mentored eliminated contestants on the Comeback stage and returned the following season as a battle advisor. And during season 20, the “Blindsided” singer filled in briefly for Kelly Clarkson.
Kelsea gave her followers a little peek at what’s to come as she shared a picture of her and her fellow judges posing together on set.
“First week of taping season 27 of @nbcthevoice, with these three is done, love them” she wrote on Instagram July. 19. “It’s great to be back.”
The Voice season 26 is currently airing on NBC and judges Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg and Reba McEntire are all hoping they turned their chair for the next champion.
